Description

A 1976 UK pressing of Rainbow – Rising, issued on Oyster / Polydor under catalogue number 2490 137. This is the Limited Edition Special Price version, housed in the gatefold sleeve with the gold special-price stamp to the front. Of particular interest are the mastering inscriptions, with STERLING present on Side A and MASTERDISK G.K. on Side B. The album features the classic Ritchie Blackmore and Ronnie James Dio-era Rainbow line-up and includes Tarot Woman, Starstruck, Stargazer and A Light In The Black. This copy also retains the striking large Simons Records “Discount Price £2.99” retailer sticker on the front cover — a great piece of period record-shop history and a particularly distinctive feature of this example.

Condition

Sleeve: EX
The gatefold sleeve presents extremely well, with only light signs of handling and storage consistent with its age. The artwork remains clean and vibrant, with the gold “Limited Edition Special Price” stamp clearly present to the upper-right corner. Importantly, the front also retains the large yellow Simons Records “Discount Price £2.99” sticker, which remains particularly eye-catching and gives this copy a distinctive period record-shop character.

Vinyl: EX
The vinyl presents beautifully with an excellent glossy appearance and only very light signs of previous handling and play. The red Oyster / Polydor labels remain clean and well presented.

Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition assessment.
