Terms of service
Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 October 2026
These Terms of Service apply to purchases made through Impala Records at impalarecords.co.uk.
By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. About Us
Impala Records is an independent UK record retailer specialising in new and pre-owned vinyl records, including original pressings, first pressings, rare and collectable records, reissues and other music-related items.
Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Impala Records.
2. Products and Descriptions
We take care to describe our records as accurately as possible.
Pre-owned records are individually assessed and graded according to their condition. Where appropriate, listings may also include pressing information, catalogue numbers, matrix and runout details, sleeve variations and other identifying information.
Because many of our records are vintage or pre-owned, some signs of age or previous use should be expected. Any significant defects identified during grading will be described in the product listing.
Photographs form part of the product description. Where photographs show the individual record being offered for sale, customers should review them carefully before purchasing.
Minor differences in colour may occur depending on screen or device settings.
3. Record Grading
Our condition grades are based on a visual and, where appropriate, audio assessment of the record and sleeve.
Grading inevitably involves an element of judgement, particularly with older records. We aim to grade conservatively and consistently.
If you believe a record has been materially misgraded or does not match its description, please contact us so that we can resolve the issue.
4. Prices
All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£) unless otherwise stated.
The price shown when an order is placed is the price payable for the product, together with any applicable delivery charges shown at checkout.
We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted.
If a product has been listed at an obviously incorrect price because of a genuine error, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.
5. Offers
Where a product is eligible for our Make Us an Offer facility, submitting an offer does not create a contract between you and Impala Records.
An order is only created once an offer has been accepted and the resulting purchase has been completed.
We are under no obligation to accept an offer and may accept, reject or counter an offer at our discretion.
6. Orders
After placing an order, you will receive confirmation that we have received it.
A contract for the sale of the goods is formed when we accept your order.
All orders are subject to availability. As many of our records are individual copies, stock may occasionally become unavailable before our systems have updated. If this happens, we will contact you and provide a full refund for the unavailable item.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where there has been an obvious pricing or listing error, suspected fraud, payment failure or another reasonable reason preventing us from fulfilling the order.
7. Payment
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at checkout.
Payments are processed securely through the payment providers available on our website. We do not directly store full payment-card details.
You must be authorised to use the payment method provided when placing an order.
8. Delivery
Available delivery methods, charges and any free-delivery thresholds are displayed on our website and at checkout.
We aim to dispatch orders promptly and package records carefully to minimise the risk of damage in transit.
Estimated delivery times are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates unless expressly stated otherwise.
If an order is delayed, lost or damaged in transit, please contact us and we will investigate the matter and provide the appropriate remedy.
Risk in the goods passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or to a person nominated by you to receive them.
Our full delivery information is available in our Shipping Policy.
9. Your Right to Cancel
If you are purchasing as a consumer online, you will normally have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without having to provide a reason.
You must tell us within that 14-day period if you wish to cancel.
After notifying us of your cancellation, you normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.
You must take reasonable care of the goods while they are in your possession.
Unless the goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise not as described, you will normally be responsible for the cost of returning them.
Certain statutory exceptions to cancellation rights may apply where relevant.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under UK consumer law.
10. Faulty, Damaged or Misdescribed Goods
If an item arrives damaged, is faulty, has been materially misgraded or does not match its description, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Where required by law, we will offer an appropriate remedy, which may include a refund, replacement or price reduction depending on the circumstances.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
Further information is available in our Refund & Returns Policy.
11. Refunds
Where a refund is due, it will normally be issued to the original payment method.
Refund processing times after we issue the refund may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
Where you exercise your statutory right to cancel the entire order, any refund of standard outbound delivery charges will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law.
12. Rare and Collectable Records
We make reasonable efforts to identify pressings and variants accurately using information including catalogue numbers, labels, sleeves, matrix and runout markings and other physical characteristics.
The market value and collectability of records can change over time. Any description of an item as rare, collectable, a first pressing or another particular variant relates to our identification of the physical item and does not constitute a guarantee of its future financial value.
13. Website Availability
We aim to keep our website available and accurate but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may change, suspend or withdraw parts of the website where reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, technical changes or updates.
14. Intellectual Property
The content of the Impala Records website, including our original photographs, written descriptions, branding, graphics and other original material, belongs to Impala Records or is used with permission.
It may not be reproduced, republished or commercially exploited without permission, except where permitted by law.
Third-party names, record labels, album artwork, trademarks and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
15. Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation and your statutory rights as a consumer.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.
If you purchase from us as a consumer, we are not responsible for business losses arising from your purchase.
16. Privacy
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Personal information supplied when placing an order will be used as necessary to process payment, fulfil the order, provide customer service and meet our legal obligations.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time.
The terms applying to your purchase will be those in force when you place your order.
The latest version will always be available on our website.
18. Governing Law
These terms and any contract between you and Impala Records are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory consumer protections and rights to bring proceedings available to you under the laws applicable where you live.
19. Contact
If you have any questions about these terms, an order or a product, please contact us using the details provided on the Contact or Business Information pages of our website.
