Description

An original 1969 US Monarch pressing of King Crimson – In The Court Of The Crimson King, released on Atlantic under catalogue number SD 8245. The MO label suffixes, MR logo and △14125 Monarch job number identify this desirable US pressing. One of the defining albums of early progressive rock, it opens with 21st Century Schizoid Man and also features Epitaph, Moonchild and the monumental title track. This copy retains the original 1841 Broadway Atlantic presentation and iconic Barry Godber gatefold artwork, with both the sleeve and vinyl grading strongly at VG++.

Condition

Sleeve: VG++
The original gatefold sleeve presents very well, retaining the striking Barry Godber artwork and strong overall visual appeal. Light storage and handling wear is present consistent with its age and the VG++ grade.

Vinyl: VG+(+)
The vinyl presents very well overall with only light signs of previous handling and play. There is a small amount of background noise in the Side One lead-in before the music begins. Once the music starts, playback is strong. A few small ticks are audible during Moonchild on Side Two. This is an exceptionally quiet track, so minor surface noise is naturally more noticeable during these passages. Otherwise, the record plays very well throughout and is graded VG+(+) overall.
