This copy carries the desirable earliest 1Y//1 / 2Y//1 matrix cuts and is housed in the classic front-laminated flipback alcove picture sleeve. Released in October 1966 and produced by Shel Talmy, As Is was the first Manfred Mann studio album to feature Mike d'Abo on lead vocals and Klaus Voormann on bass. The album includes Trouble And Tea, Dealer Dealer, Autumn Leaves, You're My Girl and the group's version of Bob Dylan's Just Like A Woman. The record retains its period paper inner sleeve.

Condition

Sleeve: EX
The original front-laminated flipback picture sleeve is graded EX. The laminated front remains exceptionally well presented for its age, with strong colour and artwork, a clean glossy finish and only light signs of handling around the edges and corners. The flipbacks remain secure and the sleeve retains excellent overall structure. The unlaminated rear shows some natural age-related toning and light handling wear. A previous owner's name, “Diane Collins”, is handwritten near the upper-right of the rear sleeve, clearly visible in the photographs.

Vinyl: VG+
The vinyl is graded VG+. The playing surfaces retain a strong overall appearance with good original gloss and light signs of previous handling and play consistent with the grade. The black and silver Fontana labels remain clean and well presented. The period paper inner sleeve is also present and shows age-related toning, creasing and general handling wear.

Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition assessment.

Highlights

Original UK 1966 Stereo Pressing – First-Cut 1Y//1 / 2Y//1 Matrices

Fontana – STL 5377 / 886 404 TY

Side A: 886404 1Y//1▽420 1 1 5 Side B: 886404 2Y//1▽420 1 1

Sleeve EX / Vinyl VG+

UK / 21 October 1966

Original UK 1966 stereo pressing

Track Listing

Side One
1.
